Interesting. We go to Austin every year, pretty much, and I gave Sydney a miss. Rule #1: panels suck. No-one prepares and they waffle on with no real information given. Very few exceptions to this. Rule #2: don't miss the headliners, but also add some randoms to your schedule. The headliners ensure a baseline experience, the randoms can make your experience exceptional, and at worst, provide comedy material.
